Educationist Lauds NAS For Contribution To National Development

A renowned UK-based educationist, Dr.Pacqueens Aisagbonhi have commended the National Association of Seadogs also known as Pyrates Confraternity towards it’s contribution to national development in addressing socio-economic challenges in the country.
Aisagbonhi stated this at the association’s annual “Feast of Barracuda, organised by the Edo-North branch of NAS held in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo, on Sunday.
Aisagbonhi said seadogs over the years had been empowering individuals and communities by promoting sustainable development practices in Nigeria.
“The National Association of Seadogs have been involved in various activities aimed at contributing to national development in Nigeria.
“Some of these contributions include: Advocacy for good governance by promote transparency, accountability, and good governance
“The association have been in the forefront of advocating for policies that enhance democratic processes and uphold the rule of law,” he said.
Aisagbonhi commended the association for it’s community development initiatives in the area of infrastructure improvement, education, healthcare, and sanitation in underserved communities across Nigeria.
He added that such initiatives aimed to uplift local communities and improve their quality of life.
He urged the association to continue his humanitarian assistance by providing humanitarian aid to alleviate suffering and rebuild affected communities.
In his paper titiled “Combating Insecurity in Nigeria” Brig Gen. Samuel Oviawa Rtd, said combating insecurity in Nigeria requires a multifaceted approach that involves the government, military, law enforcement agencies, and civilians.
Oviawa noted that to overcome insecurity, the security agencies can enhance intelligence gathering, improve surveillances and collaboration with local communities to anticipate and prevent attacks.
“By adopting a comprehensive approach that addresses the root causes of insecurity and modernizes security capabilities.
” Nigeria can effectively combat insecurity and ensure peace and stability for its citizens,” he said.
Also, Dr Sunny Eshiotse, in his paper presentation on “Re-imaging Nigeria’s Value for Fabric for National Rebirth called on Nigerians to values human lives rather material things.
Earlier, the NAS Capoon, Hybrid Deck, Edo-North branch, Mr Dirisu Odion said the Feast of Barracuda embodies the organization’s values, promoting a sense of belonging, shared purpose, and commitment to societal impact.
Odion said the “Barracuda” represents a fierce and powerful fish, reflecting the group’s values of strength, resilience, and camaraderie.
“The “Feast of Barracuda” is a significant event in the Pyrates Confraternity.
“The Feast of Barracuda is a celebration of the organisation’s founding and its ideals, marked by elaborate costumes, music, and merriment.
“It has become an important tradition, symbolising the bond among members and non members and their commitment to the pyrates confraternity’s principles,” he said.
Odion noted that the association is on the forefront of focusing on social welfare, community service, and charitable activities.
The NAS Capoon said the association’s ideology is to strengthens bonds among members and non members, fostering unity and solidarity.
He added that the the association would continue to play it’s role in community services, cultural heritage, social justice and good governance.
Highpoint of the event was the feasting of the Barracuda fish by members and non members.
