In his inaugural address, the newly elected Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House, Rt. Hon. Dr. Enema Paul Adu-Ojo CNA, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Governor Yahaya Bello, the executive Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja, Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Prince Siaka Shaibu, Chairman of Dekina LGA, and the esteemed residents of Dekina II/Okura Constituency. He acknowledged their unwavering support, prayers, and encouragement, which contributed significantly to the success of this day.
With humility and a deep sense of responsibility, the Deputy Speaker pledged to provide all-inclusive representation for the people of Kogi State. Recognising the diverse needs and aspirations of the state, he emphasised the importance of unity of purpose in achieving meaningful progress and development.
Promising to be a beacon of unity and collaboration, the Deputy Speaker highlighted the significance of working together, irrespective of political affiliations, ethnic backgrounds, or religious beliefs. He stressed that inclusive representation means valuing and embracing the opinions and concerns of all constituents, ensuring that their voices are heard and their interests are addressed.
The Deputy Speaker also emphasized his commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance. He pledged to uphold the principles of integrity and ethical conduct in his role, working tirelessly to promote the welfare and well-being of the people. By fostering an environment of trust and open communication, he aimed to build strong bridges of cooperation between the legislative and executive branches of government, as well as among various stakeholders in the State.
Recognizing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, the Deputy Speaker called for unity and resilience in tackling the pressing issues facing the State. He expressed his determination to champion causes that would bring about sustainable development, improved healthcare, quality education, job creation, and enhanced infrastructure within the State.
