The Executive Secretary, Kogi State Office For Disability Affairs, Barr Zacchaeus Dare Michael has praised the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for approving to establish a University in Okunland.
Barr. Dare in a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja, said the decision is one in the right direction particularly that the Okun nation, with special reference to the people of Kabba Bunu LGA have been in the vanguard for the agitation for a University.
Barr. Dare said locating the University in Kabba Bunu LGA will open up the Okun nation for greater development, described Gov. Bello as the best thing to have happened to the State in terms of providing opportunities and development for people of the State.
The Executive Secretary notes that Kabba has the up to date facility to host the University, pointing out that it has already exiting Health care facilities in terms of hospitals, bank’s, market and human resources for the take off of the University.
Barr. Dare therefore appealed on behalf of the good people of Kabba Bunu LGA for the siting of the University in the area, pointing out that it has been an age long dream.
The Executive Secretary disclosed that the people of Kabba Bunu LGA have in the last 30 years being in the agitation for a University, praised Gov. Bello for the approval, asked that it should be located in the area.
