The Yoruba Community in Kogi State have expressed implicit confidence that the President Elect, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice, Sen. Kassim Shettima will adopt workable policies and programmes that will unite the multi ethnic tribes of the country.
The Yoruba Community in Kogi State expressed the confidence in a press briefing, said the President elect and his Vice will address insecurity challenges, unemployment, infrastructural deficit, boost agricultural activities in the Country.
In an address read by Chief Adeniyi Bamidele Gabriel, Secretary General, Yoruba Community, Kogi State, urged the President elect to fulfill his promises of providing Free education at all levels in the country for all able bodied Youths and young girls, pointing out that he has exemplified it when he was Governor of Lagos State.
The News Briefing By Yoruba Community in Kogi State And Its Environs was to Felicitate With The President Elect, Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Kassim Shettima On Their Well Earned Victory at the Presidential Election On 26th Of February, 2023, was held at the Palace of His Royal Highness Oba Alhaji Bello Audu Oke (Owo Ni Boy) Oba Of Yoruba Community, Kogi State, expressed the felicitations of the Yoruba speaking citizens of Nigeria from the Seven South West States of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, and Kwara, joined other well wishers to felicitates with the President Elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice, Kassim Shettima on their hard earned and overwhelming electoral victory at the recently concluded Presidential election held in the country”.
” We, the entire South West Yoruba residents in Kogi State want to use this avenue to commend the Nigerian electorate for expressing their confidence and believe in Asiwaju’s capacity and capability by entrusting him with your massive votes to enable him offer leadership to the country when the present administration of President Mohammed Buhari will exit in May 29 this year”.
” We want to sincerely express our gratitude to Nigerians for finding our son worthy to steer the ship of the country with the humongous support he was accorded during the nation wide poll and we have explicit confidence that Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Shettima will never betray the trust and confidence bestowed on him”.
” We urge Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to bring your vast human experience to bear as you prepare to begin to administer good governance to the country just as you demonstrated in Lagos State turning it to epic centre of socioeconomic and commercial hub of the country”.
The Yoruba Community, noted with admiration that in the policy documents presented Nigerians, said the President elect, promised to complete the gigantic moribund Ajaokuta steel company situated in the confluence state, said if actualized, will turn the country into an industrialised nation and wipe out unemployment in the country.
The Yoruba community in Lokoja and its environs, equally praised Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for securing lives and property’s of the citizens through his various actions, expressed gladness that the State under his watch has witnessed tremendous development in the areas of human and infrastructural development.
The Yoruba community also used the Press Briefing to congratulate all those who recently won elections, congratulated Senator elect for Kogi West, Hon. Sunday Karimi, House of Representatives Member elect for Lokoja/Kogi Federal constituency, Hon. Danladi Aguye, Members elect for Lokoja 1 and Lokoja 11, Team Best and Aliyu Umar, urged them to work hard to justify their Social contract with the people.
The Oba Yoruba called on Nigerians to rally round and mobilise unflinching corporation for the incoming federal government under Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kassim Shettima to enable them place the country on the map of sustainable growth and development.
