Today, we are dusting our cards in preparation to cast our votes for the progressives aspiring to represent us at the state house of assemble in kogi state.
Demographic reality has placed youth as that force to be reckoned with, for anyone who seeks democratic means to serve in elective political offices.
YouthO’clock as a non-governmental organization dedicated to sensitizing and empowering young people is advising all the prospective candidates to consolidate on the precedence set by His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello in promoting youth involvement in active politics.
However, the executive Governor of Kogi State has demonstrated his commitment to youth involvement in politics by appointing young people into key positions in his administration and modeling their participation in the process. This has led to a new wave of young politicians, who are passionate about creating a better future for themselves and their communities.
Candidly, the polite body of our dear country has been rolling out policies that are in a way not favourable to the youth, this can be drawn from the fact that youth are yet to be given the appropriate stance and voice in legislation.
We believe that all aspiring candidates most have made a concerted effort to reach out to young people, to present a clear vision for the future of Kogi State, one that prioritizes youth development and empowerment – They must also demonstrate the willingness to listen to the concerns and ideas of young people and incorporate them into their policies and plans.
Furthermore, all candidates should maintain absolute peace by adhering strictly to the laws governing the electoral process.
In conclusion, the youth of Kogi State hold the key to a brighter future as His Excellency, GYB has elevated us to the limelight, we most hold on to this golden realization and stand tall at it.
Remember, whoever wins this should tailor ideas to consolidate the quest to give young people a voice in politics..
