Nigerian Civil Society Situation Room Trains 50 Election Observers in Kwara


 

 

The Nigerian Civil Society Situation Room has concluded training for Observers in Kwara State ahead of the 25th February, 2023 Presidential Election.

Ms. Eunice Abimbola Agbogun, The Executive Director Challenged Parenthood Initiative (CPI), facilitated the training in Ilorin.

The Kwara State Resident Electoral Commissioner was represented by the Director, Voter Education and Publicity. Dr.Adesina Adetayo, with about 50 Observers from across the LGAs said to have received the training.

Amongst those present at the Observers training were
Dr. Mrs. Limota Goroso, the Executive Director, International Women Communication Centre (IWCC) who is also the Kwara State Coordinator for the Nigerian Civil Society Situation Room.

Others include the Director National Orientation Agency, Mr. Olusegun Adeyemi and member of the media.

The capacity of the Kwara State Observers according to the participants has been enhanced on the following topics; Overview of Election Observation and Code of Conduct for Election Observers, Election Day Observation and Reporting to the Situation Room through ( whatzapp reporting, direct calls, incident reporting, introduction to online observation form)

Highlights of the training for the observers was putting into practice the exercise with a Role Play and Simulation Exercises on Election Day Observation as well as the presentation of Accredited Tags and Kits to the observers.
