“Barr. Kabiru Usman will no doubt do well and take Kogi State to the desired destination if he becomes Governor “.
These were the words of Emeritus Professor, Salisu Attai Atakida, a Peoples Democratic Party stalwart from Idah LGA, urged Barr. Kabiru Usman to accept the call for him to run.
Speaking with the Nigerian Post in Lokoja, the Professor of Mathematics said he and other league of Professors and other intellectuals are seriously mounting pressure on Barr. Kabiru to accept the call to run, pointing out that he is eminently fit to do well if he emerge as the Governor of the State.
While pointing out that the stake for who govern the State in the forthcoming dispensation is not about Parry but the ability to deliver, said Barr. Usman has all it takes to close the gap and restore the lost glory of the wasted years.
While pointing out that the forthcoming Governorship election would be a defining moments for the State, reason why experience, capacity and ability to Unite the various segments of the State should be the criteria to elect the next governor.
What Kogi State needs moving forward is a home base Technocrat, Administrator and Politician who has an understanding of the people of Kogi State, described Barr. Kabiru Usman as having all it takes to reposition the State for infrastructure and economic development.
Prof. Salisu urged Barr. Usman to accept the call to run, pointing out that he would be doing the people a greatest disservice not accepting the call, described the defeaning calls from across the State as one borne out of the passion for purposeful leadership.
Though Barr. Kabiru Usman is yet to make pronouncement on calls for him to join the Guber race, he was born in 1966. He attended RCM Primary school, Ankpa 1972 – 1977 and St Charles College, Ankpa between 1977- 1982.
Upon completion of his secondary education, Barr. Kabiru proceeded to SBS, University of Jos from 1983- 1984, he later gained admission into the prestigious University of Jos between 1984-1988 and graduated with LL.B Hon’s.
Barr. Kabiru attended the Nigerian Law School between 1988-1989, he was the Head of Chambers, B.M Dalhatu & Co 1987-2000.
Barr. Usman Kabiru served as Principal Partner and Head of Practice, Deluxe Chambers from 2000 to date.
Barr. Kabiru Usman has equally held many political party positions. He was the Zonal Legal Adviser, PDP North Central, 2008 – 2014 and
PDP National legal Adviser in 2016.
Barr. Kabiru Usman was the Chairman Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic, Idah 2012- 2015
He served as Secretary, Kogi State Presidential Campaign Council for President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, and has served the PDP in several many Committees.
Barr. Kabiru Usman is the Chairman, Board of Directors, Caribbean Petroleum Ltd, has attended many conferences, Workshops and Seminars on Governance and Economic development
A recipient of many Awards, Barr. Kabiru Usman is presently the Secretary Kogi State Presidential campaign for the Atiku 2023, is married and blessed with children and hails from Ankpa LGA of Kogi State.
