Nigerians have been charged to make peaceful co-existence a way of life.
The Data Entering Officer Community Peace Action Network (CIPAN), of Interfaith Mediation Council on the on going Community Initiative to Promote Peace (CIPP) Project in Kogi State, Pastor John Akor, made the call on the sidelines of a two day meeting for CPOs and CMMRC Members.
Pastor John said IMC is committed to ensuring a peaceful co-existence amongst religious adherents and diverse ethnic groups in the country.
He added that IMC has been making resolution of disputes and conflicts in the country, expressed confidence that IMC is resolved to peaceful co-existence particularly amongst religious groups and the divers ethnic groups the country is blessed with.
While pointing out that God did not make a mistake by creating everyone come from a particular ethnic background and religious divide, urged citizens to make use of the diversities God has blessed us with.
Mr. John disclosed that it is dependent on the individual to strive for peace because no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of rancour, stressed that it is incumbent on man to safeguard and protect his neighbor.
He concluded by saying that the meeting for the CPOs and CMMRC was for them to Step up their games to ensure peaceful co-existence.
Similarly, Beanard O. Ajewole, Coordinator, The Narrative Changers, who also was a participant at the meeting organized by IMC, described peaceful co-existence as the panacea for development of any society, praised IMC for making peace in societies a priority.
