
As part of measure to ensure safety at the workplace, Kogi Enterprise Development Agency, KEDA under the leadership of the MD/CEO KEDA, Hajia Rekiya Onaivo Sanni has organised a one day capacity training on fire safety.

The training which was facilitated by the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) department is aimed at equipping the agency staff on measures that guarantee safety in case of fire incidence.

The facilitator, Helen Feleshi, while educating the staff on precautionary measures against fire outbreak at workplace noted that, even though organizations were not established with the expectation of fire and other emergencies, preparing the staff against possible occurrences enables them to effectively manage risky situation within their working environment.
She further highlighted common danger flashpoints in office spaces, exit strategies and rescue measures that maximize safety of staff in an event of fire outbreak.
The safety officers took the staff through a fire drill which included evacuation, fire extinguisher use and rescue measures while safety marshalls were appointed for each unit of the agency for safety management around their offices.
