Our Leaders in Yagba West have discovered the past experiences that made us to suffer calamitiously in the hands opposition in yagba west and yagba federal constituency in the last election.
Despite the fact that some party members worked assiduously to deliver Henry Abimbola, the party candidate for House of representative,we found it difficult to deliver him in the general election due to how we handle the issue of primary, that was what prompted some aggrieved party members to work against the party and work in favoured of opposition that brought the emergence of Elder Leke Abejide as federal lawmaker, same thing is applicable to kogi west senatorial primary,the aggrieved party members also voted for opposition and the ruling party loss the election, it was only House of assembly election in yagba west we allowed, because party delegates voted for their choice of candidate, that is why Hon Aderonke Aro emerged as a winner in general election, thank God for the magnanimity showed by the administrator of Yagba west in person of Hon.Timi Joseph that gives room for free and fair primary election that brought Hon. Aderonke Aro as the party candidate and won with cleared merging in general election, out of fourteen ward in yagba west, Honourable Aderonke Aro won thirteen wards, this shows that they allowed the delegates to choose whom they want, that’s why we won conveniently without stress.
Majority of Yagba west stakeholders are not happy with sudden endorsement of some minority aspirants that sees themselves as government candidate,they can’t come to party overnight and not go through the process of the party and begin to lobby for endorsement.
If the party don’t want experience what happened in 2019 to repeat itself again,then there is need to go through due process and gives room for free and fair primary election in yagba west, yagba and kogi west.
The ward chairmen and secretaries that kicked against the endorsement in a letter with the thirteen signatory of ward chairmen and thirteen signatory of ward secretaries shows that they are craving for free and fair primary election,but if they decline,then there is danger ahead if we allowed endorsement to occur.
