Parents and students in Secondary and Tertiary Institutions have been asked to leverage on the book; Academic Escort in making wise career choices.
The Chairman, Governing Council, Anchor International Schools Lokoja, Mr. Mathias Okpanachi made the call at the weekend during the public presentation/ launch of the book Academic Escort,
A Guidance and Counseling book for Schools and tertiary institutions, authored by Mr. Boboye Gabriel
The book launch took place during the 2022 career day of the Anchor International Schools Lokoja.
Mr. Okpanachi described Academic Escort as an easy guide and pathway to choosing a career by parents and students, recommended the book for parents and career guidance and counselors, said it could not have come at a better time than now.
The Chairman Governing Council described the emergence of the book as timely, said it is coming at a time when parents and students are in confusion as to choices of career, said the timeliness of the book Academic Escort is not only apt but has become obvious.
He said making the right career choices helps check regrets and time wastage by parents and students, described the Author, Mr. Boboye Gabriel as an astute educationist per excellence with vast knowledge of experience in guidance and counselling, described the book as a product of skills that would aid career choices.
Earlier in her remarks at the Career day, Mrs Helen Mathias, the Proprietress of Anchor International Schools, said the career day became necessary particularly as a lot of parents and students are at a crossroads when making career choices.
She advised Students’to always stay strong, remain original by maximizing who they are, urged them to have faith in their ability in using their inate skills and talents, said the career day is set aside to enlighten parents and students on steps to take in decision making as it has to do with choosing a career.
