It was a political carnival on Sunday in Dekina town, headquarters of Dekina Local Government Area when Hon Jimba Muhammed Jimba formally declared his ambition to contest the Dekina/Bassa federal House of Representatives seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.
He was received by Dekina APC ward chairman, Hon Bilal Muhammed, Dekina APC chieftains, Hon Jibrin Yusuf, Hon Muhammed Sanni Umaru, Hon Adaji Ainoko, Hon Gideon Hassan and Hon Hadiza Sani.
Speaking at the formal declaration for the Dekina/ Bassa House of representatives race, the aspirant, Hon Jimba Muhammed Jimba told the mammoth crowd that his ambition is borne out of the dire need for him to lobby for the dividends of democracy for the constituency.
Hon. Jimba said since the return of democracy in 1999, Dekina/Bassa constituency has not enjoyed it’s fair share of the gains of democracy adding that much has not been done by past representatives of the federal constituency to improve infrastructural development in the constituency.
Hon Jimba said if elected he was prepared to lobby federal ministries and agencies to bring positive development for Dekina/Bassa constituency. He maintained that he was prepared to make every needed political sacrifices to achieve his goal for the constituency.
The House of Representatives aspirant further said as a one time Special Adviser on General Duties in Dekina Local Government Council, he touched the lives of the electorate through the provision of the good things of life to the electorate of the Local Government. He stressed that if elected he will do more for the electorate of Dekina/Bassa federal constituency.
Hon Jimba called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) party delegates to vote him in the forthcoming Dekina/Bassa APC primary election adding that he is the only candidate who has served at the grassroots with the feelings of the people and would ensure the people enjoy government presence in the constituency if elected.
He thanked Dekina APC stalwarts, Executive members, Leaders of thought and well wishers who graced his formal declaration for Dekina/Bassa constituency House of Representatives race stressing that he will not disappoint the federal constituency if elected as their House of Representatives member.
Speaking at the ceremony, the APC Ward chairman for Dekina Local Government Area, Hon Bilial Muhammed said he was overwhelmed with joy to receive Hon Jimba Muhammed Jimba on behalf of the members of the executives of the party. He said Hon Jimba’s formal declaration is a prove of his seriousness to contest the House of representatives race for Dekina/Bassa federal constituency election
Hon Bilal wished Hon Jimba a successful campaign and thanked him for his bold political step in declaring for the race of the federal constituency.
Other Dekina APC party leaders who spoke at the formal declaration ceremony include, Hon Jibrin Yusuf, Hon Muhamed Sanni Umaru, Hon Adaji Ainoko, Hon Gideon Hassan and Hon Hadiza Sani. They all wished Hon Jimba a successful campaign in the months ahead.
