Okene Local Government acting Chairperson, Honorable Bilkisu Avosuahi Aliyu host the Commissioner for Agriculture, Honorable David Apeh. Special Adviser on Agriculture, Honorable Mumuni Okara and other high profiled officials from the ministry of Agriculture. The event which is aimed at handing over the built cassava production factory projects to the host communities is also paramount to the development of our local communities and of-course the boost of the upgrading steps to relief farmers of the use of manpower in processing farm products such as cassava into garri and the likes.
This boost serves as meaningful evidences of the plan to fully upgrade the Agricultural wings of Kogi State by His Excellency Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello. This development is also a revenue generating type and commercially purposeful. The sites of the newly installed and built cassava production factories are respectively in “Ageva” which is completely a perfect commercial central part for Agricultural activities and also another one completely built in “Achoze” both in Okene local government area of Kogi State.
In a remark by the Acting Chairperson of Okene it is clear that Okene local government is proud to have the State Governor aa her son as his tenure in the Office is a great attractor of huge benefits to especially the Agricultural department and many other departments in the State and the local government. Honorable Enyuse highlighted massively the show of interest by the Governor of Kogi State to ease production processes for the farmers in Okene especially through the great executed project by the “Accelerated Agricultural Development Scheme” which stands to be the subject of the day being prepared officially for proper handing over to the host communities in Ageva and Achoze for use, operation and maintenance.
Following the handing over to the host communities in Ageva and Achoze where we had selected cooperative team that is saddled with the responsibility of operation and maintenance and to take charge with immediate effect, the Acting Chairperson also pledged to contribute to the smooth operation and maintenance of the both cassava production factories as Kogi remain validly the most peaceful State for commercial activities.
The Acting Chairperson appreciated the efforts of the Commissioner for Agriculture, Honorable David Apeh and the Special Adviser on Agriculture, Honorable Mumuni Okara. She also expressed gratitude to the State Government for securing such huge projects down to the local governments to boost the upgrade in the production sectors and industrialization of the Agricultural sector of the State. Following the inspection of the project, Honorable Bilkisu Avosuahi Aliyu emphasized on the high qualities of installed facilities also assure the farmers and the cooperative/management team of smooth operation and maintenance, commends the scheme of proper and quality delivery of GYB standards at both sites.
