A Kogi-based Youth Association, Kogi Youth Alliance has condemned the recent declaration by the former Lagos State Governor Senator Ahmad Bola Tinubu to contest the forthcoming Presidential election in Nigeria, pointing out that it is obvious that he is not in tune with reality.
The group reaction was contained in a press statement released to newsmen in lokoja, Kogi State Capital, condemned the move by Tinubu to contest for the office of the President stating that such a move is an affront on the collective interest of Nigerian Youths.
The President of the Youth Association Comrade Temitope Olufemi Daniel said that it’s a political misnomer for Tinubu at his old age to think of aspiring for the President of Nigeria while the rest of the country are anxiously awaiting a young man to take over from President Buhari.
Comr. Temitope Described the ambition of Senator Tinubu as inordinate and uncharitable of a national leader, warned that Tinubu’s Presidential ambition would end up eroding the balance of his political career and popularity.
Comr. Temitope equally noted that Nigerians are looking forward to leaders whose argument would sit on competence, capacity, and mental and emotional Intelligence to man a heterogeneous nation.
He further stated that anybody over 60 years should be thinking of retirement, added that Aso Rock is not a retirement home for anyone, said the country is tired of repetitive history.
The Association Called on Nigerians not to support nor work for older generation of politicians to be the next president of Nigeria, pointing out that they are the problem the country is battling to solve.
