A philanthropist and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, Pastor Engr. Sunday Adebayo Babalola has described the death of the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) Kwara State chapter, Most Reverend Paul Adegboyega Olawoore as very sad.
Babalola, in a statement, described late Olawoore as a man of humility, simplicity, honesty, and piety.
He noted that Olawoore was born on 30th November 1961 but died on 1st January 2022.
He said, “I commiserate with the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter, the Christian Community at large, over the demise of Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria Kwara State Chapter, who was also the Catholic Bishop of Ilorin Diocese, Most Reverend Paul Adegboyega Olawoore who died in the early hours of Saturday, 1st January 2022, at the age of 60 years.
“It is worthy of note that Most Reverend Paul Olawoore was a man known for his humility, simplicity, honesty, and piety. He was in all regards a Christian Leader like no other who devoted his life to Ministry work and preaching of the message of Christ.
“I am sad that this enterprising and Charismatic Leader in Christ’s Kingdom on earth has left the stage at a time when there are obviously daunting challenges before the body of Christ.
“It saddened my heart more that this man of God died on the day of new year; a day meant to be a day of joy was turned to a day of sorrow for his family and the Christian Community in Kwara State. But, who are we to question the will of God, The Almighty, who does whatever pleases Him.
“As the Bible admonishes us about death being the end of every mortal. We must be consoled by the fact that Most Reverend Paul Adegboyega Olawoore has fought a good fight of faith and has earned his rest in the Bossom of our Lord.”
“I pray Almighty God to be pleased with his departed soul.”
The Chancellor, Catholic Diocese of Ilorin, Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Iletogbe, had in a statement on Saturday said that the cleric passed onto glory after a brief illness at a hospital in the early hours of January 1, 2022.
The statement read: “Dear Reverend Fathers/Sisters, Brothers & Sisters in the Lord.
