Wards and Local Government Executives of the People’s Democratic Party in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Friday, converged in their hundreds at the Aiyetoro Gbede residence of Senator Dino Melaye to declare their loyalty to the vibrant politician.
At the meeting were all members of the Local Government Exco.
Also in attendance at the meeting were notable leaders drawn from various wards across the length and breadth of Ijumu Local Government as well as the totality of executive of 15 wards.
Some of the leaders present at the heavily attended meeting, include: Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye, Former Commissioner for Education, Hon. Zaccheaus Atte, PDP Zonal Chairman, Prince Richard Akanmode, Chief Sola Adedoyin, Chief S.O. Adeleye, Hon. Bariga and Hon. Idris Muriana.
Others are Hon Lamidi Saliu, Hon. S.O. Ibrahim, Ho Mrs Ronke Andy, Hon. Ayo Adeleye as well as the Local Government party chairman, Hon Sam Olabode Ologunmaiye and his complete exco.
The wards executives, who were recognised in turn, were unanimous in their declaration that, they have come to appreciate Senator D. D. Melaye for his timely intervention in the affair of the party, during the last wards and local government congresses.
The meeting observed that, the party at the Local Government level, was at the brim of collapse, when God, in His infinite mercy sent Senator Melaye, who courageously thrusted himself in, for a great rescue.
The party faithfuls prayed for the the Aiyetoro born senator, that God will continually back him up in his life pursuits,
The meeting went into serious session during which far reaching decisions were taken in respect of observations that a few individual are parading themselves as alternative exco of ijumu PDP, seeking ways of forming a parallel exco to cause distracted for the party excos led by Hon Sam Olabode Olorunmaiye.
1) The meeting warned that, as much as the newly constituted executives have been charged to be magnanimous in victory, it will not fold it’s arms to stare at enemies of our great party, as they swim in unconstitutionality.
2) The meeting insists that there is only one PDP in Ijumu and one executive body and warned that the party will not hesitate at invoking the full wrath of the law again all detractors from the smallest to the greatest.
3) The meeting warned that any individual who allowed him/herself to be used against the legitimate leadership of the party at any level will soon begin to lick his/her wounds if they refuse to desist.
4) The meeting observed that in the last few weeks, disrespectful utterances emanating from some political tyros has been sported in section of the social media again the person of Senator Melaye, (The leader of the party in Okunland today). It therefore warns that PDP does may be forced to visit every iniquity without further delay.
4) The meeting reemphasize that Hon Bode Olorunmaiye remains the the Constitutional Chairman of the party in Ijumu LGA, haven not only been sworn in, but has equally participated in and voted at the just concluded national convention of our great party.
The meeting which started minutes after 2.00 pm ended 5.00 pm
