For record purposes, my name is Victor Chukwuemeke and am from Delta State, Nigeria.
The new States by the Senate Committee proposes 11 states to be added to the North, while 9 States to be added to the South as reported by The Nation Newspaper of August 8th, 2021.
This brings the North to 31 States (FCT inclusive), while the South will have 26 States.
The above analysis brings a deficit to the South with 5 States.
This is unacceptable to us at the Southern parts of Nigeria and we reject it with all sense of patriotic judgment.
The Southern Lawmakers are hereby placed under mandatory call to duty, to ensure that the six geo-political zones get equal numbers of states and equal numbers of local government areas at the conclusion of this State creation.
The lawmakers from the South should remain at Abuja should they watch this evil plot scale through. Myself and other concerned citizens from the South, particularly the youths will ensure that appropriate punishment is given to them all, should they sit and watch their colleagues from the North succeed.
To the leadership of the National Assembly, if we must remain united, the six geo-political zones should be allowed equal states and local government areas.
