The Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning has urged Muslims in the State to celebrate Sallah by imbibing the lessons of total submission to the will of Allah that the festival preaches.
In a Sallah message, the Commissioner said that in celebrating Eid-el-Kabir, people should be modest and use the period of the festival to seek Allah’s mercies and to also use it to further tighten bond of unity.
He also pleaded with citizens, irrespective of religious persuations, to use the occasion to reflect on the virtue of the faith, service and total submission to the will of Allah, the foundation for their lives, because according to the Commissioner, Eid-el-Kabir festival symbolises the fear of Allah and desires of man to always comply with the wishes of His creator.
MAAI enjoined all Muslim faithful to continue to persevere and pray for peace and progress, said a strict adherence to the teachings of Islam in the areas of love, brotherliness, piousness, peaceful coexistence as well as tolerance will greatly assist the present administration of President Mohammadu Buhari and Gov. Yahaya Bello to achieve its stated positive agenda for Nigeria and the State.
According to him “the present administration in the State he noted is desirous of improving the lives of the people through programs and policies that have direct impact on the lives of the people, Congratulated Gov. Yahaya Bello, Muslim faithful and all the people of the State on the celebration of yet another Eid El Kabir.
He prayed God to grant the faithful and people of the State the Grace to witness many more Eid El Kabir festival in joy, good health and prosperity.
