‘GYB is focused on making Kogi state the Culture & Tourism capital of Africa” says Hon. Isah Idachaba.


 

The Kogi state commissioner for culture & tourism has re-emphasized the mantra of his Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello calling on all stakeholders irrespective of their divide to come and join hands with the GYB administration to develope the culture and tourism sector of the state.

The commissioner made this remark while receiving a team from Frich Confluence promotions; a culture and tourism organization led by Dr. Francis Akpa seeking collaborations with the ministry for culture and tourism.

According to the team leader Dr. Akpa; ”Frich confluence wishes a partnership with the ministry & the organisation has been in existence since 2001 marketing & promoting globally the enormous hidden culture and tourism potentials in Kogi while showcasing the sites and sounds of Kogi state to the world”.

The honourable commissioner in his response said the GYB administration is poised to make Kogi the Culture & Tourism capital of Africa for tourist to visits and drive new money into the state economy, grow businesses and increase tax revenues.

Hon Isah went futher to say ”No sector creates jobs like the culture and tourism sector with businesses, events and attractions springing up to diversify the local economy”.

In his remarks, the permanent secretary of the culture and tourism ministry thanked the team and adviced them to put together documents for record purpose to commence the collaboration with the Kogi state culture & tourism ministry.
