
Kogi State Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Comrade Adeiza Momoh Jimoh, Waziri of Lokoja, Abdulrahman Idris, Dr. Baba Aboki led other prominent Nigerians on Monday to attend the 7 day Fidau Prayers of late Alhaji Muhammad Abdullahi, father of Abubakar Sadiq former legislative aide to Senator Dino Melaye.
The Fidau Prayers was led by the Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Sha’aban, assisted by other Islamic clerics in and outside Lokoja.
In his sermon, Imam Sha’aban, urged all to live impactful lives, bearing in mind that the end could come any time.
Sha’aban said the late Abdullahi, inspite of enjoying immense blessings from God, served Allah with all he had and instilled discipline in his children.
He added that the deceased would forever be remembered as a community leader, successful Public servant and a good Muslim.
The cleric, who emphasised the need to do good while alive also reminded the people of the temporary nature of life, urged them to be prepared for the inevitable end at any time.
Speaking after the prayer season, son of the deceased , Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq said their late father had left a vacuum that would hadly be filled.
“Our father was a peace maker, community leader and a father to all, irrespective of tribe or religious beliefs” he said.
He expressed appreciation to those that sent their condolences to the families adding that the family remains grateful to HRH the Maigari of Lokoja, Dr Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi 111, Chief Imam of Lokoja, Justice Audu Aboki, justice of Suprime Court and others too numerous to mention
