The Kogi State Government has partnered the World Bank for the training of the Management Staff of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency.
The training is in preparation of the COVID-19 ACTION RECOVERY AND ECONOMIC STIMULUS (NG-CARES) PROGRAMME.
The program in particular is in the lead platform to deliver the Result Area 1 of the intervention aimed at supporting the scaling up existing safety net interventions at the state level.
The NG-CARES safety net interventions to be supported by the PforR will expand the coverage of social transfers; Labour Intensive Public Works (LIPW) opportunities in the social sectors; livelihood grants; and social service infrastructure microprojects.
The one-week training was hosted last week in Nairobi, Kenya and it focuses on “Implementing and Managing Multisectoral Programme for Result in a Pandemic”
In a chat with the leader of the Kogi state delegation, Mallam Daudu O. Momoh, he asserted that the programmes besides the exposure on the international best practice in the social protection sector has availed the Kogi team the opportunity to build its capacity on new areas of reducing of poverty in the rural areas in line with the New Direction Agenda of the present administration of Kogi state.
Mallam Momoh thanked the Governor of Kogi State for his support for the Agency the so far, saying the support have translated to reduction of poverty through programmes and activities of the Agency heralded by the provisions of basic social services at the rural areas.
He assured the Government of one hundred percent performance in the new State Government – World Bank partnership billed to be effectivitive later this year.
