Congratulation His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi state as my MAN OF YEAR 2020.
We have not had many like you before or now and I doubt we would have many like you in the future. Those who fittingly can not see the good side of you are those in that house which is only open on the west, so they can’t see the sun rise at dawn; except when the sun sets at dusk. Their fault lies not with their vision but with the closed windows.
For me, there are many of events that could have earned you Man of the Year award. But none has had the potency and influence wielded by your stand against the Covid-19 scavengers in the country. You saved lives for disallowing panic amongst Kogites. Take a bow on Facebook, YouTube, Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Tumbir, Reddit and you will agree that the social media community of 3.484 billion users with Facebook alone in the commanding position with 2.32 billion active users can bear me witness that you deserve this Man of the Year Award.
Tribe, religion or class are no longer the determinants of who or where gets what. You play no role except as a measure of proportionality. You also made it a deliberate policy to observe affirmative action. For the first time in our history, the youth and the womenfolk occupied the largest number of high profile positions in government ever, and wielded real influence.
The state has become humanity’s watering hole, a hotbed of ideas, gossip, slur, the good, the bad, the downright whimsical, the vain and the noble; a mix-bag, hodgepodge and a real jumble. But put on a scale, the good outweighs the bad.
For those reasons and more, you’re my Man of the Year 2020.
Congratulation once more!
