By joshua 2027: Gov Ododo Chairs Kogi APC Presidential Campaign Council As Smart Adeyemi, Karimi, Fanwo, Others Make List
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled the Kogi State Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, appointed as Chairman.
The Council brings together the state’s political heavyweights including former Governor Yahaya Bello, former Governor Capt. Idris Wada (Rtd), Arc. Yomi Awoniyi and Chief Edward Onoja who will serve as Patrons.
Former Senator representing Kogi West, Senator Smart Adeyemi, emerges as Director-General of the Council, while Senator Sunday Karimi will head Parliamentary Mobilisation as Director-General.
The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has been appointed as Coordinating Director, Strategic Communication, with Ismail Isah as his Deputy. Comrade Majeed Dahiru will serve as State Campaign Spokesman.
According to the list, Ali Bello will serve as State Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council, to be assisted by Hilary Ojomah Egwudah as Deputy Coordinator.
Other key appointments include Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu and Engr. Aliyu Ezzu Momoh as Vice Chairmen of the Council, while Ambassador Abubakar Sanusi Gamji (Kogi Central), Senator Attai Aidoko (Kogi East) and Rt. Hon. Alfa Imam (Kogi West) will serve as Zonal Vice Chairmen.
Rt. Hon. Momohjimoh Lawal (Central), Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu (East) and Rt. Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide (West) were named Deputy Directors-General for the three senatorial districts.
Hon. A.K. Salihu was appointed Director-General of Mobilisation, with Prof. Usman Salisu Ogbo and Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole as deputies.
The directorate structure also includes Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd) as Director, Security and Intelligence; Abdulaziz Idris King, Director-General, Election Planning; Suberu Adagu, Director-General, Administration; Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, Director, Stakeholder Mobilisation; Yakubu Yusuf Okala, Director, Logistics and Operations; Asiwaju Asiru Idris, Director of Finance and Treasurer; and Princess Atika Ajanah (Mamman) as Director, Fundraising.
Others are Barr. James Fabola, Legal; Hajiya Ramatu Tijani Aliyu, Policy and Manifesto; Barr. Momodu Ozigi Deedat, Works; Oladele Nihi, Youth and Students Mobilisation; Hajiya Rabi Haruna Hassan, Women Mobilisation; Adoga Ibrahim, Diaspora Mobilisation; Ibrahim Abdulsalam Ahovi, Support Groups; Alfred Bello, Faith Groups; Hon. Duro Meseko, Protocol; Hajiya Salamatu Baiwa Umar-Eluma, Party Mobilisation; Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Sports; Onuh Edoka, Labour Unions; Dr. Abdulaziz Adams Adeiza, Medical Services; and Haddy Ametuo, Special Duties.
The party said the broad-based composition is designed to leverage political experience, grassroots structures and strategic communication to deliver Kogi State for the APC presidential candidate in 2027.
