Kogi Vigilante Service Arrests Suspected Notorious Kidnapper In Igalamela

The Kogi State Vigilante Service, KSVS, has arrested a suspected notorious kidnapper at Igabada, a boundary town between Kogi and Enugu States.
In a press statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Idris S. Idris, the KSVS said the suspect, 24-year-old Muhammad Babuga, was arrested at about 1900 hours on October 8, 2026, by operatives of the Igalamela Command acting on credible intelligence.
According to the statement, the suspect confessed to being a member of a kidnapping gang and was also identified by a victim who was recently released by the gang after payment of ransom.
The Comptroller-General of the Kogi State Vigilante Service, Alh. Ibrahim Usman Anataku, commended the operatives for their commitment and result-oriented security operations, urging them to sustain the tempo.
The Comptroller-General also expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his continuous support and encouragement, which he said has boosted the morale of personnel and enhanced service delivery.
He appealed to members of the public to assist security agencies with timely and actionable information to aid in combating crimes and criminality in the state.
