GOVERNOR ODODO COMMITTED TO EDUCATION, DONATES BLOCK OF CLASSROOMS TO KUSSA NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL

…Rewards Outstanding Pupils With Cash, Scholarships, Pledges Solar Lights, Supports Traditional Council With N300,000

In further demonstration of his commitment to basic education and grassroots development, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has donated a block of classrooms to Kussa Community Nursery and Primary School in Kogi LGA.

The project, a community-driven initiative, was delivered through his loyal messenger, the Honourable Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu.
During a surprise visit to the school, Engr. Bashir Gegu did not just inspect the facility, he went straight into the classrooms to interact with the pupils. He engaged them in classwork, tested their brilliance and encouraged them to take their studies seriously as the future of Kogi State.
At the end of the interactive session, three outstanding pupils Abubakar, Hauwa and Abigail emerged as stars of the day. To the admiration of teachers and fellow pupils, Engr. Bashir Gegu, on behalf of Governor Ododo, presented them with cash awards and full scholarships covering their nursery through primary education.
According to Engr. Bashir Gegu, the gesture is a clear message that Governor Ododo rewards excellence and believes that no child, no matter how remote his community, should be left behind in access to quality education.
In a related development, at the palace of the Ohinoyi of Kusa Chiefdom, the Commissioner reaffirmed the administration’s love for Kusa community and pledged to further enhance its infrastructure by installing solar-powered street lights to improve security and illumination in the community.
He also urged the residents of Kusa to continue to maintain peace, unity and support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, noting that only in an atmosphere of peace can the dividends of democracy thrive.
In support of the traditional institution, Engr. Bashir announced a donation of Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000) to the traditional council to support its activities.
Responding, the Ohinoyi of Kusa Chiefdom and the community leaders expressed profound gratitude to Governor Ododo and Engr. Bashir Gegu for the love shown to Kusa community, describing the Commissioner as a true son who has never forgotten his roots.
They offered prayers for the success of the Ododo administration and for more wisdom for Engr. Bashir as he continues to serve the state diligently.
