Rufus Obafemi Rallies Support For APC Candidates Ahead Of Ijumu Council Poll

 

The Personal Assistant to the Governor (Ministry of Education), Comrade Rufus Obafemi, has called on the people of Ijumu Local Government Area to support Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, the APC Chairmanship candidate, and the fifteen Councillorship candidates of the party in the forthcoming Local Government election in Kogi State.

Comrade Obafemi made the call during an online engagement with youths across Ijumu, where he spoke on the importance of civic participation and the forthcoming council election.

He urged residents to critically assess the candidates and programmes presented by the various political parties and to participate actively in the electoral process.

He also encouraged the people to continue to engage with the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and take interest in its policies and programmes for the development of the state.

Speaking on the broader political landscape, Comrade Rufus canvassed support for APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Hon. Arch. Salman Idris, member representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, as well as the party’s House of Assembly candidates in Ijumu.

He charged APC supporters to work for the success of the party at all levels, from national to state and local government.

The Governor’s aide also expressed confidence in the continued political support for Governor Ododo, noting that the administration should be allowed to continue its development initiatives across the state.

He urged the people of Ijumu to remain engaged, peaceful and committed to the democratic process as the local government election approaches.
