By joshua NIGERIA AT 66: PAAU VC CALLS FOR RENEWED COMMITMENT TO UNITY, EXCELLENCE AND NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, staff and students of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba (PAAU), I warmly felicitate with the Government and good people of Kogi State, as well as all Nigerians, on the occasion of the 66th Anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence.
This significant anniversary offers us an opportunity to reflect on our journey as a nation, celebrate our achievements, acknowledge the challenges that remain and, of course, renew our collective commitment to building a peaceful, united and prosperous Nigeria.
At 66, Nigeria remains a nation of immense potential, endowed with remarkable human and natural resources. Despite the socioeconomic challenges confronting the country, the resilience, creativity and determination of Nigerians continue to inspire hope for a better and more prosperous future.
As we commemorate this historic and important milestone, I urge Nigerians to remain committed to the ideals of unity, peace, patriotism, justice and responsible citizenship. The task of nation-building requires the collective effort of government, institutions, communities and individuals.
We must, therefore, continue to work together, support constructive initiatives and contribute positively to the development of our dear nation.
As an institution, we recognise the critical role of education in shaping the future of Nigeria. Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba remains committed to academic excellence, research, innovation, character development and community service, as we prepare graduates that are capable of contributing meaningfully to national and global development.
I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Governing Council, Management, Senate, staff, students and other stakeholders of the University for their continued dedication, cooperation and commitment to the growth and advancement of our institution.
As we celebrate 66 years of nationhood, let us renew our faith in Nigeria, strengthen the bonds that unite us, and remain committed to excellence in our various endeavours.
There is absolutely no doubt that, with our collective responsibility, mutual respect and sustained commitment to national development, we can contribute to building the Nigeria we all desire.
Once again, I wish all Nigerians a happy, peaceful and memorable 66th Independence Anniversary.
