The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Mohammed Sanni Gambo, today hosted the National Chairman of the party, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, and the National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, during a condolence visit to the Abuja residence of the late former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
Hon. Gambo, leading members of the State Working Committee, received the national officers and jointly led the delegation to commiserate with the bereaved family.
In his condolence message, the National Chairman, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, described the late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris as an irreplaceable pillar of the PDP, a father to all, and a statesman whose legacy of selfless service, philanthropy and peace-building politics will continue to endure. He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give the family the fortitude to bear the great loss.
Corroborating, the National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, eulogized the late leader as a bridge-builder whose contributions to Kogi State and the nation remain indelible.
On behalf of the State Working Committee and the entire PDP family in Kogi State, Hon. Mohammed Sanni Gambo expressed profound gratitude to the National Chairman and National Secretary for their show of love, solidarity and leadership by identifying with Kogi State in this moment of grief.
He described their visit as highly comforting to the family and a clear testament to the inclusive, compassionate and united leadership being provided by the Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed-led National Working Committee which emerged at the Party’s 2026 National Convention.
Hon. Gambo further prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and asked God to uphold his family and the entire Kogi PDP.
The visit ended with special prayers for the deceased.
