By joshua Kogi Education Commissioner Attends Firdau Prayer for Late Dr. Mbashir Lanre, Describes Him as a Source of Wisdom and Hard Work
The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Kogi State, Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB, on Monday attended the Firdau prayer held in honour of the late Dr. Mbashir Abdulateef Lanre, former University Librarian of the Kogi State University, Kabba.
Hon. Jones joined family members, friends, colleagues, members of the academic community and other dignitaries to offer prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased and to commiserate with the bereaved family.
Speaking at the solemn event, the Commissioner described the late Dr. Lanre as a source of wisdom, knowledge, dedication and hard work, whose immense contributions to education, library and information science, and the university system will remain indelible.
He noted that Dr. Lanre lived a life of service and intellectual excellence, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire students, scholars and administrators.
Hon. Jones extended his heartfelt condolences to the family and the entire academic community, praying Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for divine comfort, strength and fortitude for the family, colleagues, students and all those mourning the passing of the distinguished academic and administrator.
