By joshua Ex-Governor Ibrahim Idris Was A Pillar Of Islam, One Of Our Great Patrons – Kogi Council Of Ulama’u Mourns
INNAA LILLAHI WA INNAA ILAYHI RAJI’OON.
The Kogi State Council of Ulama’u of Nigeria has, with a heavy heart, solemnly commiserated with the immediate family of His Excellency, Late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, CON, former Executive Governor of Kogi State, over his demise today, Sunday 9th Rabiul-Thanni, 1448H / 20th September, 2026 in London.
The Council, in a condolence message signed by the Council Secretariat in Lokoja, also sends its condolences to His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, his Executive Council Members, the Honourable Speaker and Honourable Members of the Kogi State House of Assembly, the Chief Judge of Kogi State and Members of the Judiciary, Honourable Local Government Council Chairmen and Council Members, the Attah Igala and Members of the Kogi State Council of Chiefs, Imams and Islamic Scholars, Members of Islamic Organisations in Kogi State, Members of Civil Society, the good people of Kogi State and the entire Muslim Ummah over this painful, colossal but inevitable loss.
The Council noted that until his death, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris was one of its esteemed Patrons who contributed immensely to the progressive growth of the Council, the propagation of Islam and the promotion of peace and unity in Kogi State.
It prays Almighty Allah to continue to shower His mercy upon him, forgive all his shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus and grant the Ummah and the entire people of Kogi State the fortitude to bear the painful but irredeemable loss, Ameen, Thumma Ameen.
The Council further stated that it will, In Shaa Allah, continue to remember him in its prayers along with all deceased Muslims, and prayed that he be graciously and abundantly rewarded for all his good deeds by Almighty Allah.
