Eradication Of Counterfeit Products: Edo CPC Seeks LGA Support

The Edo State Consumer Protection Committee (CPC), on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ovia South-West Local Government Council, Hon. Osaro Osorobo to solicit for his support for the eradication of counterfeit products and the exploitation of consumers by private sectors in the Local Government Area.

The Management Committee led by its Chairman, Mr. Iyamu Osaro Culture, informed the Chairman of the need to work with the committee in the Local Government area.

Iyamu , said the visit was to solicit the Executive Chairman’s collaboration and synergy towards effective and productive State-wide enforcement on the eradication of counterfeit products and the exploitation of consumers by private sectors in the Local Government Area.

The committee chairman, appealed to the Council Chairman to mobilize relevant departments and community leaders to support the Committee so that they can jointly realize the SHINE Agenda of Governor Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State.

Iyamu also used the opportunity to invite the Chairman to the proposed Town Hall Meeting, while emphasizing that the meeting is designed to assemble all stakeholders in order to deliberate and resolve on the best global standards permissible for tackling the current problems bedeviling our society, particularly those associated with counterfeit products and the exploitation of consumers by capitalists.

In his response, the Chairman promised to support the Committee in order to achieve its set-out mandate which is in line with the SHINE Agenda of Governor Okpebholo.
