Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole has been commended for his leadership styles, with a charge to keep up the good work and refuse to be distracted by various spurious petitions and allegations designed to confuse him by those who hate progress.

A prominent Nigerian businessman and the founder of Yem-Kem International, Dr. Akintunde Isola Ayeni gave this charge while hosting FUOYE Management team in his office at Oye-Ekiti.

Dr. Ayeni, a distinguished indigene of Oye-Ekiti and a prominent stakeholder in the community remarked that the community was excited by the positive developments trailing the Prof. Ogunwole’s regime since it came on board in February this year, urging the VC not to look back in his determination to rebrand the university with his agenda of cultural transformation.

His words: “the entire Oye community is happy with the good reports we get from your leadership. Both students and staff members are testifying that things are gradually changing for the better. They say the new VC doesn’t tolerate indiscipline, including extortion, sexual harassment and all manner of moral turpitude. We are happy to hear this kind of testimony”

” At the same time, however, we get to hear about the activities of those who are writing spurious petitions and making useless allegations against you. I want to tell you that all these useless petitions and allegations are designed to distract you. Please, don’t be distracted. Keep up the good work. You are writing your name in gold. Generations yet unborn will not forget your name”, Dr. Ayeni said.

Chief Dr. Ayeni expressed his commitment to the growth and development of his community and assured the FUOYE Management of his full support and continued partnership with the University.

He further expressed his happiness over the tremendous development and opportunities brought to the community through the establishment and presence of FUOYE, noting the positive impact of the University on Oye-Ekiti and its people.

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Ogunwole had told his host that part of his agenda for the university was to give FUOYE a new image with his cultural transformation agenda, pointing out that many Nigerian Universities would still come to copy FUOYE’s model.
