As the countdown to the 2027 General Election gathers momentum, political conversations across Kogi State and indeed Nigeria are beginning to take shape. It is an election that will test the depth of representation, the weight of performance, and the wisdom of constituencies to parade their very best. For Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, the question is no longer about who can contest, but who can truly deliver at a time when national leadership will demand experienced hands in the National Assembly.
With President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid appearing to gather stronger traction given the field of presidential contenders and their political trajectories, the coming dispensation will require lawmakers who understand the workings of government, who have built relationships across party lines, and who can position their constituencies to benefit from federal opportunities. In that equation, Ajaokuta Federal Constituency cannot afford to be left behind by gambling with sentiment. It must field its best, and in Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, the constituency already has a proven asset.
Since his arrival in the 10th House of Representatives, Hon. Egidi has steadily distinguished himself as one of the outstanding voices in the lower chamber. His legislative contributions have not been about noise or grandstanding, but about substance, about bills and motions that speak directly to the everyday realities of Nigerians. Colleagues across the aisle acknowledge him as a bridge builder, a lawmaker who listens first and negotiates later, and that temperament has been crucial in a House that thrives on consensus.
