Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Dr. Victor Umeh, KSJI, KSS, OFR, was among distinguished participants at a Two-Day Strategic Pension Development Roundtable between JPMorgan and the Nigerian Pension Commission (PenCom), held in London, United Kingdom, on 24th and 25th August, 2026.
The high-level engagement brought together key stakeholders to deliberate on strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s pension industry, deepening investment opportunities and positioning the sector to contribute more effectively to national economic growth and development.
Discussions during the two-day Roundtable focused on the development of Nigeria’s pension system, sustainable investment strategies, effective asset management, institutional strengthening and the adoption of global best practices in advancing the security and long-term sustainability of pension assets.
The engagement also provided participants with the opportunity to exchange ideas with leading experts and financial industry stakeholders on innovative approaches to unlocking the enormous potential of Nigeria’s pension funds for economic development, while ensuring the protection of the interests and future security of Nigerian workers and retirees.
