GROUP CANVASSES FOR ODODO’S SECOND TERM BID AND HON. LEKE ABEJIDE’S THIRD TERM RE-ELECTION

GROUP CANVASSES FOR ODODO’S SECOND TERM BID AND HON. LEKE ABEJIDE’S THIRD TERM RE-ELECTION

A pressure group, “Like Minds Alliance Pressure Group”, has intensified grassroots mobilization for the re-election of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Hon. Leke Abejide in Yagba land and Kabba-Bunu LGA respectively.

The National Coordinator of the group, Chief Richard Asaje, made this known in a statement during an empowerment programme held in Isanlu-Makutu, Yagba West LGA of Kogi State.

Chief Asaje appealed to stakeholders and residents of Yagba land to rally behind Governor Ododo for a second term in office.

According to him, “The achievements of Governor Ododo have proven beyond doubt that he deserves a second term. He has shown that leadership is not about showmanship, but about service and results. We remain committed to grassroots political engagement.”

Speaking further, Asaje noted that the empowerment initiative presents a fresh opportunity for Governor Ododo, the leadership of the APC in Kogi State, and other progressive support groups to work together in advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” across the state.

On Hon. Leke Abejide’s candidature, he described the Yagba Federal Constituency lawmaker as the most qualified and most suitable personality for a third term.

“Members of the Like Minds Alliance Pressure Group regard Hon. Leke Abejide as a proven leader. His records of governance in Yagba and beyond, and his leadership prowess at the national level, speak for him. His commitment to community development and human capital empowerment has earned him the appellation of ‘Mr. Project’ within and outside Yagba land,” Asaje stated.

“Our democracy is ripe for our people to re-elect leaders based on performance,” he added.

Chief Asaje also unveiled the group’s unified grassroots mobilization framework to support Governor Ododo’s re-election during the 2026 Hairdressers Association Anniversary held at St. Augustine’s College, Kabba. At the event, he was conferred with a prestigious award in recognition of his contributions to community development.

Represented by Hon. S. Balogun, Chief Asaje described Governor Ododo as a leader who is doing his best for the state. “Kogi is better than where he met it in terms of regular salary payment and the massive physical infrastructural development going on in Okun land, Kogi West, and across the state,” he said.

At the end of the meeting, leaders of the group assured of their continuous support for Governor Ododo “come rain, come sunshine,” stating that they appreciate his efforts and are ready to rally round him to achieve all set goals, including victory at Lugard House in 2027.

“We want to assure everyone that we shall not relent in giving unalloyed support to this administration and to Hon. Leke Abejide’s aspiration in the 2027 general election,” Asaje concluded.
