As Kogi State marks its 35th anniversary, the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, has congratulated the government and people of Kogi State, describing the anniversary as a moment of reflection, gratitude and renewed commitment to the collective development of the state.
Senator Karimi specially commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his courage, leadership and commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly his determination to implement reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s economy, improving infrastructure, creating opportunities and laying the foundation for sustainable national development.
He acknowledged that some of the reforms may come with temporary difficulties, but expressed confidence that the sacrifices being made today will ultimately contribute to a stronger, more resilient and prosperous Nigeria.
The Senator also extended his warm greetings to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on the occasion of Kogi State’s 35th anniversary, wishing him wisdom, good health and continued success in the service of the people.
According to Senator Karimi, Kogi State belongs to every Kogite, irrespective of political affiliation, senatorial district, community or background. He therefore called for greater unity among the people, emphasizing that the collective interest of the state must remain above personal and political differences.
He noted that 35 years of statehood should not only be celebrated but should also encourage citizens and leaders to reflect on the progress made, identify areas requiring improvement and renew their determination to build a better future.
Senator Karimi reaffirmed his commitment to promoting initiatives that advance education, infrastructure, youth empowerment, security, economic development and improved opportunities for the people of Kogi West and Kogi State.
He encouraged young people and citizens across the state not to lose hope, stressing that the challenges confronting society can be overcome through responsible leadership, unity, hard work and collective determination.
“I strongly believe in the future of Kogi State and Nigeria. Our challenges are real, but our opportunities are greater. With unity, responsible leadership, hard work and faith in God, we can build the Kogi and Nigeria we desire.”
He further urged Kogites to continue supporting peaceful coexistence and constructive development, noting that the progress of the state requires the contribution of government, citizens, traditional institutions, professionals, business leaders and the younger generation.
Senator Karimi concluded by praying for Kogi State, its people, its leaders and Nigeria, asking God to continue to grant the state peace, wisdom, prosperity and sustainable development.
Happy 35th Anniversary, Kogi State!
May God continue to bless Kogi State, bless Nigeria and guide our leaders toward greater accomplishments.
