Kogi CP Honors 35 Officers With Commissioner’s Commendation Award For Gallantry, Professionalism

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, psc, mni, on Thursday presented the Commissioner’s Commendation Awards to 35 deserving officers for outstanding performance, bravery and dedication to duty.

The ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters in Lokoja, was described by the CP as a celebration of professionalism, courage and exemplary service within the Command.

CP Kankarofi said the awards were in recognition of officers whose commitment and sacrifices have contributed significantly to the successes recorded by the Kogi State Police Command in the areas of crime fighting, intelligence gathering, rescue operations and community policing.

“Today’s ceremony is a celebration of dedication, professionalism, courage, and exemplary service. It is an opportunity to publicly recognize officers whose outstanding performance, commitment to duty, and unwavering loyalty to the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force have distinguished them among their peers,” he said.

The CP listed some of the achievements of the honored officers to include successful anti-banditry operations, rescue of kidnapped victims, arrest and neutralization of notorious criminal elements, dismantling of human trafficking and kidnapping syndicates, and effective prosecution of sexual and gender-based violence cases.

He noted that since his assumption of office, the Command has remained focused on building an intelligence-driven, operationally effective and community-oriented policing structure.

“These accomplishments are not accidental. They are the product of discipline, teamwork, professionalism, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to service,” CP Kankarofi stated.

The Commissioner charged the award recipients to sustain the high standard and serve as role models to younger officers. He also urged other personnel not on the list to see the event as motivation for excellence, integrity and diligence.

CP Kankarofi appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, for his visionary leadership, the Kogi State Government, sister security agencies, traditional rulers, vigilante groups, hunters and the media for their continued support in maintaining law and order.

A total of 35 officers drawn from the ranks of ACP to Corporal received the awards. They include ACP Kingsley Osuoha Ikechukwu, ACP Anslem Ali, ACP Ibrahim Jawi Mamman, ACP Nosa Onukwube, ACP Oridoye Akindele, CSP Joseph Adebiyi, CSP Ibrahim S. Bawa, SP Abu Yakubu, SP Ojo Obafemi, SP Lagos Ali Ishaku, and other officers, Inspectors, Sergeants and Corporals.

The CP concluded by reaffirming the Command’s resolve to continue building a safer Kogi State.

“Together, we shall continue to build a safer and more secure Kogi State where law-abiding citizens can live, work, and prosper without fear,” he said.
