The Ofante Community Self Help Association (OCSHA) national President, *Eleojo James Amodu*, today inaugurated the *Ayegba Obekpa Family Tree, Custom and Tradition Book Committee*.
In his inaugural address, the President described the project as “a sacred duty to preserve our identity and heritage for the present and generations yet unborn.” He charged the committee to research diligently, verify facts with elders, edit where necessary and produce an authoritative book on the Ayegba Obekpa lineage, customs, and traditions arising from the symposium recently organized on the Ofante national media platform.
“This is not just a committee, it is the planting of a seed whose roots will hold our generation and whose branches will shelter the future,” the OCSHA President stated. He pledged OCSHA’s full support to ensure the success of the project for the benefit of our future generations.
The committee’s mandate is to document the genealogy of Ayegba Obekpa, record authentic customs and traditions, and deliver a reference book for scholars, families, and future leaders of the lineage.
OCSHA reaffirms its commitment to cultural preservation and unity across Ofante land and diaspora.
In his speech, the Committee Chairman, Dr. Dan Enema Ogala, speaking on behalf of his committee members thanked the President for the privilege accorded them to serve their father land adding that the committee will discharge her duties to the best of their knowledge and in accordance with the terms of reference. Dr Ogala also thanked the president and his NEC team for finding him from the crop of intellectuals in Ofante worthy for the assignment . He promised to deliver his best for the benefit and assimilation of Ofante Ogugu as a people and children yet unborn.
