Idah Federal Constituency 2027: Ukwenya Sets New Standard For Unity Politics, Aide Says

… PDP flag bearer’s congratulatory message to Co-contenders earns praise from campaign team
The Media Team Lead of Hon. Paul Ukwenya Campaign Organization has described the PDP flag bearer for Idah Federal Constituency, Hon. Paul Ukwenya, as a model of bridge-building and unity-driven politics ahead of the 2027 general election.
Hon. Paul Ukwenya, a one-time Chairman of Idah Local Government Area, emerged as the PDP candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing Idah, Ibaji, Igalamela/Odolu, and Ofu LGAs.
His campaign has been anchored on grassroots engagement, inclusive leadership, and development-focused politics.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Idah, Yusuf Abubakar, Media Team Lead of the campaign organization, said Hon. Ukwenya has set a new standard for harmonious politics in the federal constituency.
The aide specifically praised the PDP candidate for sending congratulatory messages to all co-contenders who vied for the same office during the party primaries.
According to Yusuf, the gesture demonstrates Hon. Ukwenya’s commitment to politics without bitterness and his resolve to unite all stakeholders for the progress of Idah Federal Constituency.
He advised candidates of other political parties to emulate the style of politics centered on peace, unity, and development, rather than divisive rhetoric.
“Politics is all about development and service to the people. The qualities displayed by Hon. Ukwenya have placed him in the lead. By reaching out to his co-contenders, he has proven that he will serve well, with the people’s interest as his major focus,” Yusuf Abubakar stated.
Political observers in Kogi East note that Idah Federal Constituency has a history of keenly contested elections, often marked by tension between political camps. Hon. Ukwenya’s approach is being seen as a departure from the usual post-primary hostilities, with many stakeholders commending his effort to build bridges across party lines and clans.
The campaign team added that Hon. Ukwenya’s tenure as Idah LGA Chairman earned him a reputation for infrastructural development, youth empowerment, and accessible leadership. Those qualities, they said, are shaping the vision he now brings to the federal level.
As consultations continue across the four LGAs that make up the constituency, the Ukwenya Campaign Organization says it remains focused on issue-based engagement and mobilizing voters around a message of unity, job creation, and improved federal presence in Kogi East.
With the 2027 elections still some distance away, the congratulatory outreach to co-contenders is already being described by residents as a bold move that could reshape political culture in Idah Federal Constituency.
