Shehu Tijjani Bin Ebaiya Wins APC Ticket Unopposed for Lokoja One in 2027
Hon. Shehu Tijjani Bin Ebaiya has secured the All Progressives Congress, APC, ticket to contest for the Lokoja One Constituency seat in the Kogi State House of Assembly after emerging unopposed in the party’s primary on Wednesday, May 20.
Bin Ebaiya was returned through an affirmation process by APC members across the five wards in the constituency. The exercise began at about 10 a.m. and recorded a large turnout, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, monitoring across the wards.
At Ward B, Returning Officer Malam Yaba Bologi told party members that Bin Ebaiya was the only aspirant who purchased and was cleared for the nomination form. Members at the ward unanimously affirmed him as the party’s candidate for 2027, a process replicated in the other four wards.
APC leader in Ward B, Comrade Sulaiman Ndalayi Abdullahi, said the outcome reflected the lawmaker’s popularity and acceptance. He described Bin Ebaiya as a leader with listening ears and expressed confidence in his chances at the general election.
In his remarks, Bin Ebaiya thanked party members for the affirmation and promised improved representation. He pledged to continue working for the development of the constituency and called for support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and all APC candidates in 2027.
