
APC Reaffirms Kogi Speaker Aliyu Umar Yusuf for Lokoja II Second Term

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has reaffirmed Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, as its candidate for a second term to represent Lokoja II State Constituency.
Announcing the primary election result, Acting Returning Officer Muhammed Abdullahi said delegates from the five wards of the constituency affirmed the Speaker’s mandate for another term.
Lokoja Local Government Chairman Comrade Abdullahi Adamu described the exercise as an affirmation of the Speaker’s mandate and thanked party stakeholders for ensuring its success. He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his leadership and said the party’s next focus was the presidential primary.
Adamu also praised former lawmaker Hon. Idris Ndako for discovering Yusuf’s potential and bringing him into the APC. “Whatever achievements the Speaker has recorded today, Ndako deserves commendation,” he said.
In his acceptance speech, Yusuf thanked the people of Lokoja II for their confidence and promised more empowerment and developmental projects. He said Lokoja remained an APC stronghold due to the achievements of the state government and urged continued unity among party members.
Former Lokoja II lawmaker Hon. Idris Ndako described the Speaker’s leadership as exemplary and pledged continued support for both Yusuf and Governor Ododo’s administration.
The event at Felele UBE Primary School was attended by Hon. Danladi Sulaiman Aguye, member for Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency; former Speaker Rt. Hon. Abdulrahman Dangana; former federal lawmaker Hon. Haruna Isa; Chief Sam Ranti Abenemi; party leaders, government appointees, and hundreds of APC supporters.
