APC Holds Peaceful House of Reps Primary in Kogi LGA, Aguye Emerges Consensus Candidate

The All Progressives Congress in Kogi Local Government Area recorded a large turnout of supporters on Saturday for the party’s House of Representatives primary election.

Speaking after voting, the Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Gegu, described the process as free, fair, and credible.

According to Gegu, the outcome affirmed Hon. Suleiman Danladi Aguye as the APC consensus candidate for the area.

He attributed the smooth conduct of the election to the leadership of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo, saying the administration had sustained a climate for peaceful polls. Gegu added that the foundation was laid by former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who he said entrenched orderly election processes in the state during his tenure.

The Commissioner thanked APC members in Kogi LGA for their peaceful and orderly conduct throughout the exercise. He also congratulated Hon. Aguye on his emergence, stating that the result positioned him strongly ahead of the general election.

“Hon. Aguye should sleep with his two eyes closed in the general election. Kogi LGA remains a no-go area for the opposition,” Gegu said.

The primary was conducted without reported incidents, with party members turning out in large numbers across polling points in the LGA.
