CSDA GM Dauda Momoh Receives Ade-Bada Foundation Distinguished Service Award
The General Manager of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KSCSDA), Chief Dauda Momoh, has received the Ade-Bada International Foundation Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his commitment to easing the burden on rural communities and vulnerable groups.
The award was presented on Tuesday in his office in Lokoja by the management of the foundation. It recognized the humanitarian projects executed by KSCSDA across Kogi State.
Speaking after receiving the award, Momoh said it was one of the most meaningful recognitions he had received recently, coming from a foundation that has turned personal challenges into impact for others.
“The objectives of the foundation align with the mandate of the agency, and this will spur me to do more for the welfare of vulnerable people at the grassroots,” he said.
Momoh noted that despite living with visual impairment, the founder of the foundation had refused to be limited by his condition. Instead, he had used his experience to create opportunities for others facing similar challenges.
“The award amazes me because it is coming from a man who may not see physically but hears the echoes of the work the agency is doing for underserved and rural communities that had almost resigned to fate,” he said.
He promised continued support for the foundation and said KSCSDA remained committed to turning challenges into opportunities for rural dwellers. He commended the foundation’s resilience and dedication to replacing adversity with productivity and creating a lasting legacy for people who might otherwise have lost hope.
Momoh also commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his sustained investment in the agency, which he said had enabled KSCSDA to perform effectively. He urged the governor to further strengthen support for the agency given its critical role in improving the lives of rural citizens and vulnerable groups.
Presenting the award, the founder of the Ade-Bada Foundation, Mr. Adebada, said the foundation recognized individuals and institutions making a tangible impact on humanity. Following a background check on KSCSDA’s work, the foundation decided to honor Momoh with the Distinguished Service Award.
“As a foundation, we believe in the welfare of the people. Government has a responsibility to make life better, and those implementing that vision deserve to be recognized,” Adebada said.
He added that despite losing his sight mid-career, he had chosen to convert his challenge into purposeful engagement through the foundation, a church ministry, and books that have shaped thousands of lives. He thanked Momoh for partnering with the foundation and called on other organizations to support its work.
Publisher of Nigeria Post, Mike Abu, said the agency’s work was visible across the state and reflected what happens when capable people occupy public office. He recalled Adebada’s transition from founding editor of Diet Newspapers and Bureau Chief of Vanguard to pioneering community journalism in Lokoja, and later establishing the foundation after his visual impairment.
Abu expressed delight at KSCSDA’s commitment to changing lives and urged other government institutions to follow its example in service delivery, appeal for more funding for the agency, pointing out that it is one agency that brings development to the doorsteps of commoners.
