Lokoja LG Chairman Urges Kogi Youth to Back Ododo’s Security Drive, Says State Now Safer
The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, has called on Kogi youths to remain focused and continue supporting Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration.
Adamu made the call on Saturday at a roundtable session organized by the Kogi State APC Youth Leader, Hon. Abdulrasheed Buhari, held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Lokoja.
He charged youth leaders and stakeholders to take responsibility for publicizing the achievements of the state government, particularly in the area of security.
According to him, Governor Ododo has committed significant resources to securing lives and property across the state, which serves as a gateway linking the northern and southern parts of Nigeria.
“His Excellency has committed a lot of resources to achieve this level of security. Unlike other infrastructures, spending on security cannot be measured like buildings or roads, we can only feel it, and we are feeling it. Kogi is safer than all neighbouring states,” Adamu said.
He noted that in recent months, the state had recorded zero cases of kidnapping or banditry, attributing the success to the governor’s determination to eliminate threats and dislodge criminals who once operated freely in the forests.
The council chairman added that the government, from 2016 under former Governor Yahaya Bello to date, had consistently prioritized youth inclusion, entrusting young people with sensitive positions to shape the future of the state.
He urged the youth to reciprocate the trust by mobilizing support and promoting the administration’s efforts across their communities.
