IDAH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY: PDP LEADERS ENDORSE HON. PAUL OGWU UKWENYA FOR HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Idah Federal Constituency have unanimously endorsed Hon. Paul Ogwu Ukwenya as the party’s consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was reached on 3rd March, 2026 at a strategic meeting held at the Kogi East PDP Zonal Headquarters in Idah Local Government Area, following extensive consultations and deliberations among party leaders, executives, and stakeholders drawn from the four local government areas of the constituency—Idah, Ibaji, Igalamela/Odolu, and Ofu.
Announcing the decision, party stakeholders described the endorsement as a clear demonstration of confidence in Hon. Ukwenya’s leadership capacity, unwavering loyalty, and longstanding commitment to the growth and unity of the PDP at the grassroots level.
They emphasized that his emergence as consensus candidate reflects the collective will of the party to present a credible, experienced, and widely accepted flagbearer capable of delivering victory in 2027.
In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Paul Ogwu Ukwenya expressed profound gratitude to the leadership and members of the party across all levels for the trust reposed in him. He described the endorsement as both an honour and a call to greater service.
“I am deeply humbled by this overwhelming show of confidence and unity from our party leaders and stakeholders. This endorsement is not just about me, but about our shared vision to reposition our constituency for inclusive development, effective representation, and sustainable progress,” he said.
Hon. Ukwenya further pledged to run an issue-based, people-oriented campaign that prioritizes the needs and aspirations of the people of Idah Federal Constituency. He called for continued unity, cooperation, and support from party members and the general public as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
Party leaders at the meeting reiterated their commitment to mobilizing support across all wards and communities to ensure a resounding victory for the PDP in the forthcoming elections.
