All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly aspirant for Esan North East Constituency II,Rt. Hon. Maria Omozele Oligbi-Edeko, on Sunday 26 April 2026, presented her 30-month Scorecard to the good people of her constituency.
Honourable Oligbi- Edeko , who is seeking re-election for a second term officially declared her intention to seek re-election in a well-attended and highly symbolic event that drew a broad spectrum of stakeholders, party leaders, supporters, and constituents from across Esan North East Constituency II and beyond.
The lawmaker emphasized transparency and inclusiveness as guiding principles of her leadership, assuring constituents that their voices have consistently shaped her legislative priorities and projects. She also outlined her vision for the next term, promising to expand developmental efforts, strengthen social welfare programmes, and attract more opportunities to the constituency.
She further stated that, “I have executed projects across the constituency, the security of my people has been my utmost priority. This second term bid will afford me the opportunity to consolidate on the successes we have recorded so far and to build on the solid foundation we have laid together.”
Rt. Hon. Oligbi-Edeko reaffirmed her commitment to the continued growth and development of the constituency.
Leaders and executives of the party also took turns to eulogize her for what they described as effective, pragmatic, and people-centered representation. They noted that her performance has not only elevated the standard of leadership within the constituency but has also strengthened the party’s position. In a show of solidarity and strategic consensus, the party leadership formally endorsed Rt. Hon. Oligbi-Edeko as its candidate for the 2027 Edo State House of Assembly election.
Her declaration event stands as a strong testament to Rt. Hon. Oligbi-Edeko’s quality representation, her growing political strength, and the enduring confidence the people have in her leadership. It signals not just the beginning of a re-election campaign, but the continuation of a shared vision for progress, unity, and sustainable development in Esan North East Constituency II.
Meanwhile, All leaders and executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Esan North East Constituency II have unanimously endorsed Rt. Hon. Maria Omozele Oligbi-Edeko as the party’s candidate for the 2027 Edo State House of Assembly election.
The decision was reached at an enlarged meeting of party leaders and executives within the constituency, where a collective resolution was made to support and present Rt. Hon. Oligbi-Edeko as the party’s flag bearer in the forthcoming election.
Recognizing the pivotal role of the legislative arm of government, the party leadership emphasized the need for competent, reliable, and trustworthy legislators who can effectively collaborate with the executive arm.
They noted that the success of the Governor’s SHINE Agenda largely depends on a supportive legislature capable of enacting policies that will drive sustainable development and position Edo State for greater progress.
Speaking during the official declaration ceremony of Rt. Hon. Oligbi-Edeko, Hon. Sam Oboh revealed that the endorsement reflects the unanimous decision of the party leadership across the constituency, reaffirming their confidence in her leadership capacity and track record of effective representation.
While commending other aspirants for their interest and contributions to the party’s growth, the leadership also applauded their maturity and willingness to respect and abide by the collective decision reached in the overall interest of party unity and progress.
Some of the projects during this 30 months service includes, building and equipping a Police station at the Federal Science and Technical College, Uromi, and fenced the Amedokhian Divisional Police Headquarters. She also donated power bikes to members of the Edo State Security Network.
Fenced the Olinlin Police station at Uzea. Gave the Uzea Security Network Power Bikes to enable their movements.
Education
Marie Omozele Oligbi-Edeko has undertaken several projects at Our Lady of Lourdes Grammar School, Uromi. Some of her notable projects include constructing a perimeter fence and entrance to enhance safety and security, as well as renovating blocks of classrooms. These efforts aim to improve the school’s infrastructure and provide a better learning environment for students .
Constructed a perimeter fence at Olinlin Primary School, Uzea. She also got approval to construct perimeter fences in Ebho-Iyi Demonstration Primary & Idumu-Egelean Primary Schools.
Healthcare
She built an ultra-modern healthcare center at Ebhoijie, Ebhoiy, Uromi, and collaborated with the World Bank to construct a cottage clinic in Uzea.
Honourable Marie Omozele Oligbi-Edeko has been quite active in her constituency, particularly in the Uzea community. One of her notable projects is paying health insurance premiums for the elderly, widows, and other vulnerable individuals in Uromi/Uzea community, ensuring they have access to free healthcare services for a year. This initiative is part of the Edo State Health Insurance Scheme, aiming to provide quality healthcare to those who need it most .
She’s also raised concerns about insecurity in Uromi and Uzea communities, urging the state government to take measures to curb kidnapping and ensure the safety of residents. As a champion of people-centric governance, Oligbi-Edeko believes governance should prioritize basic needs like healthcare, education, and social welfare .
Infrastructure
Oligbi-Edeko commissioned a 500 KVA transformer in Efandion community, improving electricity supply and boosting economic activity.
