KOGI PDP RALLIES MEMBERS FOR UNITY, SLAMS APC OVER ECONOMY, INSECURITY AHEAD OF 2027
… Party vows grassroots mobilization to unseat ruling APC in Kogi and nationwide
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on aggrieved members to close ranks and present a united front in its bid to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The call was made on Saturday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Kogi State attended by senior party figures, including Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan representing Kogi Central, former House of Representatives members, and former governorship aspirants.
Speaking at the meeting, PDP leaders said the party is now more cohesive and focused on grassroots mobilization to win back public trust and secure victory in the next election cycle.
The party took a swipe at the APC-led federal government, accusing it of worsening the nation’s economic hardship and failing to contain the rising insecurity across the country.
“The APC has crippled the economy and deepened insecurity. As a responsible opposition, the PDP has a duty to rescue Nigeria from imminent collapse,” the party stated.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan urged party members to put aside internal differences and work collectively to rebuild the PDP’s strength at the grassroots level.
Kogi State PDP Chairman, Sanni Gambo, said the party was repositioning itself as a credible alternative and would intensify engagement with communities ahead of 2027.
Former House of Representatives member TJ Faniyi and ex-Kogi PDP governorship aspirant Abubakar Idris also echoed the need for unity, stressing that only a united PDP can restore stability and good governance.
The stakeholders resolved to embark on sustained outreach and reconciliation efforts across Kogi State to strengthen the party’s structure and broaden its support base.
