KOGI LGA STANDS FIRM: Citizens Affirm Vote of No Confidence on Sen. Sunday Karimi

We, the citizens of Kogi Local Government Area, rally our support to the vote of no confidence passed on Senator Sunday Steve Karimi.
The recent statement circulated by one unknown Maliki Tudun Wada, attempting to brand our collective position as “paper noise,” is nothing but a failed attempt to silence the true voice of the people. Development cannot be reduced to 2k data stipends and selective handouts while the core responsibilities of representation are abandoned.
Senator Sunday Steve Karimi has failed conspicuously in critical areas within his constituency and the party:
– He failed to identify with the party leadership that brought him to power both at the state and local government levels, alienating the very structure that produced him.
– He failed to admonish and preach the gospel of sanity and good representation, choosing political grandstanding over accountable leadership.
– He failed to identify with the pre-requisite knowledge of his promises, leaving campaign pledges unfulfilled and communities abandoned.
– He failed to identify with the common theme of party leadership, which is democracy and the pre-conditions for the survival of democratic institutions consultation, inclusion, and feedback.
No amount of commissioned press statements by faceless individuals can erase the reality on ground. The people of Kogi LGA see through projects packaged for social media while our communities remain neglected. Real representation is not measured by who shouts loudest online, but by who listens, engages, and delivers on the mandate freely given.
In this regard, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi should know that Kogi Local Government has lost confidence in him and has no interest in his aspiration or continuity come 2027.
This is the voice of the streets. This is the will of the people.
