2027: Lokoja–Kogi Must Choose “Continuity of Service” Over Politics, Says Aguye’s Aide
… Candid Ibrahim argues constituency needs experience, not trial-and-error representation to tackle Abuja–Lokoja gridlock, rural deficits
With early conversations around the 2027 polls picking up across Lokoja–Kogi Federal Constituency, voters are being urged to reframe the coming election not as a contest of ambition, but as a choice between “uncertainty and continuity” of service.
In a statement released Tuesday, April 15, 2026, Candid Ibrahim Gcfr, Head of Media and Publicity to the current House of Representatives member, Hon. Danladi Suleiman Aguye, said the constituency’s next decision at the ballot must answer one question: “What exactly should the people be voting for in their next representative?”
“Elections should never be reduced to a contest of noise or mere ambition,” Ibrahim stated. “Representation is not just about occupying a seat in the National Assembly. It is about carrying the voice, struggles, and hopes of the people to the highest table of decision making.”
Pressing Issues Beyond Slogans
Ibrahim listed unfinished federal priorities demanding sustained advocacy, including urgent attention on the Abuja–Lokoja Felele Bypass and the persistent traffic bottlenecks along the Lokoja–Abuja Highway through Koton-Karfi and Gegu-Beki.
He added that rural electrification, access roads, potable water, healthcare, education, and stronger security presence remain “everyday realities” for constituents, not campaign talking points.
“Lokoja–Kogi Federal Constituency cannot afford a representation built on trial and error in 2027,” the statement read.
Strategic Gateway Demands Steady Voice
Describing the constituency as a “strategic point connecting the North and the South,” Ibrahim argued that its gateway status requires purposeful advocacy and steady leadership in the National Assembly.
“For many constituents, the question is no longer about who wishes to represent them, but who has consistently shown commitment to the development of the constituency,” he said.
Case for Continuity
The statement positioned Hon. Danladi Suleiman Aguye as a representative who has remained “accessible, responsive, and focused on drawing national attention” to the constituency’s needs.
“Representation, after all, is not a seasonal activity activated only during election periods. It is a continuous responsibility that requires presence, advocacy, and dedication to the people,” Ibrahim noted.
Ballot as Verdict
As 2027 draws closer, Ibrahim said voters will be asked to decide “not just between candidates, but between uncertainty and continuity of purposeful representation.”
“The decision will ultimately rest in the hands of the people. And once again, Lokoja–Kogi Federal Constituency will speak with their thumbs on the ballot,” the statement concluded.
