JAMB 2026 UTME: Kogi Police Roll Out Full Security Cover for CBT Centres
… CP Kankarofi deploys personnel, intelligence teams, traffic units to safeguard candidates; warns malpractice, disruptions will be met with decisive action
The Kogi State Police Command has activated a statewide security operation to guarantee a peaceful and malpractice-free 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, across all approved Computer-Based Test centres.
Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, psc, mni, has directed the strategic deployment of personnel, operational assets, and intelligence teams to every JAMB CBT centre in Kogi State, in compliance with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM.
The measure is designed to provide a safe, secure, and stress-free atmosphere for candidates, invigilators, JAMB officials, and other stakeholders before, during, and after the examination.
Strict Orders to Deployed Officers
Under the Command’s operational order, all deployed officers are to exhibit the highest standards of professionalism — courteous but firm — while on duty. They are mandated to take swift, lawful action against any form of examination malpractice, disorderly conduct, impersonation, or security breach within and around CBT centres.
Officers will work hand-in-hand with JAMB officials, centre administrators, and other sister agencies to secure examination halls, perimeters, parking areas, and major access routes.
Layered Security Approach
Beyond static guards at CBT venues, the Command has activated roving patrols, undercover intelligence operatives, and dedicated traffic control units to ease movement, prevent congestion, and neutralize potential threats. Surveillance will cover pre-exam, exam, and post-exam periods to protect candidates arriving and departing the centres.
Warning to the Public
CP Kankarofi appealed to candidates, parents, guardians, and the general public to cooperate with security personnel and comply strictly with JAMB guidelines. He warned that any individual or group caught attempting to compromise the integrity of the UTME — through cheating, aiding malpractice, or causing disruption — will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Public Vigilance Encouraged

Reaffirming the Command’s commitment to the safety of lives and property, CP Kankarofi assured that the Police will sustain peace and order across Kogi State throughout the examination period.
